Notes from the road - edition 6: Epic waterfalls and RAD Livin

This week has been big in an epic way.

Last Saturday a fellow photographer and creative, Santina, reached out to me on Instagram wanting to collaborate and hang out. We met up on Sunday morning and didn’t part ways until Tuesday afternoon.

Part of that was two epic waterfall missions. One to Leke Leke waterfall with just the two of us, while the second was a whole squad mission with Santina, Brett, Gabe, and two more friends from America, Chris and Skyler, to Sekumpul waterfall, the tallest waterfall in Bali.

A two hour drive up into the mountains later along some of the most scenic roads I’ve seen in Bali so far and we reached our destination.

I don’t think I will ever be able to describe that day to anyone who wasn’t there experiencing it right beside me. We spent nearly two hours at the waterfalls, snapping photos and filming clips. We were smashed by a rain storm on the way back but made it back to Canggu safe and sound, if very wet and nerves a little on edge. Nothing a cup of hot tea and some meditation couldn’t fix.

After several days straight of adventuring, I was a little behind on work, so Tuesday and Wednesday were dedicated mostly to editing photos and writing and on Wednesday I flew back to Sydney for RAD Livin.

RAD LIVIN

I came to RAD Livin for the first time last year soon after returning from the trip to Bali with Global Hobo. RAD Livin is an event like no other. 500 like-minded people converge together to share their passion. It’s a day designed to inspire you to do what you want to do NOW, rather than wait for some time in the future. I was lucky enough to become friends with the founder of RAD, Olivia, and while last year was life changing, this year was special in a different way.

I helped set up the event on the Friday, then went to a gig with Zac from The Neverland Boys, one of last years’ speakers. These boys are a huge inspiration to me, so getting to hang out with all three of them this weekend has been incredible.

Seeing your friends’ dreams come to life and being a part of that dream is such a good feeling. The energy in the room at RAD is electric. Everyone is there for the same reason – to share their passion, goals, and hopes with the world in the interest of manifestation. Being surrounded by so many inspired and driven people, to hear the speakers share their stories, it’s truly an incredible day.

I love looking at the difference between where I was at this time last year and now. To attend the same event two years and a row and reflect on everything that has changed and happened is really cool. Plus, this year I’ve made even more amazing friends from all over the world who I can continue to connect and share the love with.

If you’re in Sydney around March next year, I cannot recommend RAD Livin enough.

RUNNING

A goal of mine this year has been to be consistent with my running. I haven’t been so far since going to Bali. But this week has been a huge motivator to start taking it seriously again.

Getting to run with Josh Lynott, the guy who inspired me to get back into running all those months ago, was so surreal, and a huge motivator. Shout out to the other legends who came for a trot during the week as well, Elliot, Jek, Lachy, Hughey, Conner, and Liz.

I feel like my soul is full. I haven’t been this happy in what feels like a long time, and the year is only just getting started. On Tuesday I head back to Bali to keep exploring with Gabe, Brett, Santina, and any other legends we meet along the way.

Here’s to following your passion and doing what you want to do NOW.

Happy Voyaging.
